Another Christmas spent dealing with the ups and downs of the pandemic…
Whilst England chose not to put new measures into place, Scotland brought in multiple new measures to curb cases. I was able to get back to Edinburgh on the 22nd of December and rushed to get my booster as soon as possible. The festive period was lovely, but still filled with uncertainty. Unsure if seeing friends was a good idea and even more unsure of what the rules actually were.
Seeing my family after such a long time being away was lovely but somewhat strange. My little brother getting taller and his hair getting longer. My thirteen year old dog not quite remembering me when i walked through the door. Leaving home and returning to feel like a visitor.

The main drama of Christmas was our turkey that my mother ordered months in advance never arriving. This resulted in me and my dad having to run around every shop in Edinburgh until we found a turkey breast which by some luck, we did. If anything id say our meal was that much better knowing we really had to work to get it.
After all the ups and downs, it ended up being a really special Christmas. Unsure id even be able to get home in the first place, it made seeing my family and friends that much more special.
How was your Christmas?
It’s the stories that make family connections so particular. Love this post. Nicola
